“Michael and I enjoyed working with Robert and Cliff. Our initial contact was with Cliff, but Robert became the primary builder on our job. We had never built a home before; he was patient with our insecurities and indecision. We worked with a decorating team who also enjoyed Robert’s calm and reassuring manner. Robert’s patience surely must have been tested when together we spent three hours with the cabinet maker and decorators redesigning the kitchen wall by wall; never once did he hurry or complain. When asked if a change in our architect’s plan or a particular design feature (such as the staircase rail, the suspended cabinets in the master bath, and the suspended open shelves in the kitchen and elsewhere) could be achieved, he looked for solutions and found them. In addition, Robert made important practical suggestions, such as suggesting that the exterior columns be capped with metal to thwart rot. He also was cost conscious. For example, we saved a considerable sum from that on the original estimate by using a less expensive but excellent stucco subcontractor, who Robert found. Robert also has an eye for design, and among other things made suggestions for the design of the molding on the exterior columns. Most importantly, Robert was “on the job” and even “hands on” at times (such as the time he sawed the fireplace surround himself!). Our building experience with Cliff and Robert, as well as their subcontractors and employees, was outstanding and we highly recommend them.”
